Metal Fatigue

Metal fatigue is a common cause of structural failures.  Metallurgical Consultants specializes in metal fatigue cracking, fatigue failures, and industrial accidents.  Our metallurgists are experts in mechanical metallurgy, metal fatigue, and fatigue failure phenomena.

Metal fatigue is a significant problem because it can occur due to repeated loads below the static yield strength.  There is no significant deformation or obvious problem before failure of the component due to metal fatigue.  Metal fatigue results in an unexpected and catastrophic failure in use.

Engineering Analysis of Metal Fatigue Failures

Due to the high number of cycles required for metal fatigue to progress significant damage can occur to the fracture faces of the failed components.  Obvious signs of metal fatigue may no longer be present after failure.

Metallurgical Consultants engineers specialize in failure analysis, and failure prevention of metal fatigue in components.  Visit our homepage for detailed information on our metallurgical failure analysis, metal fatigue, and industrial accident services.

Questions concerning metal fatigue cracking or fatigue failure may be sent to bob@MaterialsEngineer.com
